Falling in love, without the knowledge of heartbreak is a beautiful thing. You throw yourself in the deep end without the knowledge of whether you'll sink or swim, whether the current will take you, whether the waves will crush you. This is the beauty of love, you jump in and you're floating, carelessly, without a worry in the world. Almost always, unexpectedly, you start to feel changes in the water, the same water you so keenly plunged in to. No one prepared you for this, no one ever can, because would you really throw yourself in the water if all you listened to were the cold and heartbroken? Falling in love is giving someone the ability to destroy you and trusting that they won't. Love teaches us to be wise, to be more selective, to notice patterns in people, but ultimately "The very essence of romance is uncertainty," and the very essence of love is vulnerability. When you build up the courage to be vulnerable again, you'll love again and through it all, I'll be here.
